Anne Hedelt, NP
Clinical experience
I have 25 years of cardiovascular nursing experience. I received my master’s degree in community health nursing in 1992 and became a certified family nurse practitioner in 2003.
Areas of interest in women’s heart health
I am interested in seeing women put themselves first, beginning with their health. Research shows that the impact of a healthy lifestyle seems to have even more of a significant impact on women than men and I want to help women get the resources they need to be healthy. I am really focused on early identification of risk factors for cardiovascular disease and diabetes, including emotional health.
Why shared medical appointments?
I believe that patients have much wisdom that can be shared with other patients and that this can be of equal or greater value than the medical care they receive. There is significant evidence which suggests that psychological and social support is some of the best medicine around. I have also always wanted patients to have adequate amounts of time with their healthcare provider.
My daily routine
I enjoy a small amount of chocolate each day and believe that laughter is truly good for you. I also love Labrador retrievers and taking long walks with them.
