Set your Thanksgiving table
It’s time again for another Club Red Cooks event! Get ready for family gatherings by learning how to prepare these heart-healthy pairings for your Thanksgiving turkey. Chef Ashley Hightower will show you how while you sample food and learn nutrition tips from the experts.
What: Be good to your heart with this heart-healthy menu:
- Parsnip and Carrot Soup
- Roasted root vegetables with maple-cider vinaigrette
- Apple and sweet potato casserole
- Green Beans with Slivered Garlic, Lemon Zest and Pomegranates
- Bulgur Dressing with Dried Fruit and Hazelnuts
- Mini Pumpkin Pies
During the demonstration, a UVA dietitian will share more insight on how to incorporate easy, heart-healthy techniques into your cooking.
When: Choose a time that works best for you: Wednesday, November 18th or Friday, November 20th from 6-8pm
Where: Seasonal Cook, 416 West Main Street, Charlottesville
Cost: This is a private event for Club Red members only. Cost of the event is only $10 ($45 off the regular cooking demonstration cost). Because of limited seating, we must restrict attendance to Club Red members – if you want to invite a friend, please have her join Club Red if she is not already a member.
